A Bird.i Credit is our transactional unit. You can make one-off purchase, subscribe on a monthly basis or bulk procure an amount of credits depending on the Plan you select. Credits are debited according to the License Type and the Application Use Case included in your plan.
1 Image View = 1 Credit
An Image View is counted every time you click somewhere on the map or zoom in/out. It is the equivalent of a Bird.i Image Service API call, it is the combination of an end-user, a location, a zoom level and an image.
1 Image Download = 35 Credits
An Image Download is counted every time you hit the download button which fetches and downloads the image currently viewed.
Bird.i Image Service is licensed and not sold to you or your business. The applicable License Type is set forth in the Plan you select which are subject to some requirements and restrictions as summarised hereafter:
VIEW License: if a VIEW License is included in the selected plan, we let you and your authorised users (i.e. any person affiliated to your company such as employees or contractors) view the best satellite images in our portal or your own solution.
DOWNLOAD License: If the DOWNLOAD License is included in the Plan selected, you can not only view the best satellite images, but you can download a screenshot of it, print or cache them. However, there are few rules – such as copyrights or maximum size – you have to stick to, for the complete list of requirements, check out our Terms of Use.
DERIVATIVE License: This license is for our customers who want to transform our images, extract manually geographic features or include them into a brochure or a report for instance. As for the DOWNLOAD License, the complete list of requirements is in our Terms of Use.
Bird.i Image Service gives you access to satellite images you can view, download and use to create derivative content, they may be used only in accordance with that Application Use Case set forth in the Plan you select.
The available Application Use Cases are as follows:
Private: You can use our images for non-commercial purpose only; they must not be offered to use for free or a fee. You, or any authorised users (i.e. any person affiliated to your company such as employees or contractors), are the only end-users of Bird.i Image Service.
Public: You still can use our images for non-commercial purpose only, but they may be offered to use for free. The end-users of Bird.i Image Service do not need to be affiliated to your company but you shall make sure they comply with our Terms of Use.
Commercial: You can use our images for non-commercial and commercial purposes, they may be offered to use for free or a fee. The end-users of Bird.i Image Service do not need to be affiliated to your company but you shall make sure they comply with our Terms of Use.
